Old Crap 2: Alice's birthday

This is one of those times I really regret the bright-happy colors of my journal.

This was supposed to be posted for my character/sim Alice's birthday on February 16. I then also decided that it could be a late birthday present for my other character Jason (Jan 26), since it features his (ex-)boyfriend in a context he would appreciate. :3 ...they're, uh, very special individuals.

Warnings: Rather suggestive and kind of creepy. I'd give it a PG-13, perhaps a little more strictly than some other things I've given that rating.

Get up, Alice.

I have a gift for you.

Something very special.

I picked him out myself. Just for you, Alice.

His name is Zack.
Take good care of him.

He's a very good boy. Quiet, obedient.

I do hope you enjoy him.

Thank you, Daddy. He's lovely.

I think I'm going to enjoy him very much.

So, yes. That's Alice. A spoiled brat with gender issues, perpetually stuck at a preconventional level of processing morality (ie, "right" and "wrong" is just a matter of how it pleases or displeases him), provided for by a filthy rich, coldly amoral scientist who he calls Daddy despite no actual relation. And then there's Zack, a fellow who donated his name to his very own syndrome of fiercely resisting capture or control up until the point it seems inevitable, then suddenly switching into all-out masochist, Stockholm syndrome mode. And probably hiding somewhere in the corners is ninja-mode Jason, who quite likes the sight of a captive Zack, although he very unlikely approves of Alice getting him as a present...

If you're curious about CC, ask. Too lazy to list it when I don't think anyone actually reads this anyway.

Words in the preview picture are from Scream of the Butterfly by Acid Bath. And yes that is the Death Note font. :D

About time I got around to putting up this stuff. Long overdue, but better than nothing.

'tis a simple photoshoot of my characters Luna and Makari (whose combined power forms... Lunari!), my all-time favorite couple for pure, sweet, true love. :3 (I have other favorite pairings, but none of them are so simple and pure and just loving as these two.) No actual writing, just pretty pictures accompanied by song lyrics.

Warnings: It's a couple doing Valentine's Day things. What more do I need to say? Homosexuality, suggestiveness, excessive fluff. Oh, and colors that clash. It's maybe a little corny with these pictures and all, but I've always thought it was lovely for them. By the way, Luna actually does have wings. :D Which are currently on his sweater, seeee?

On another note, you might think of this as a far, far preview for Imperfect Unity, as these two are eventually characters in that story... So I guess this was kind of a spoiler. Ahahaa. Oops.

I'll add a list of CC later.
....who get images from deviantArt.

Please don't think "I got the images from deviantArt" counts as credit. If you're going to say that, then list the usernames of the people you took images from. If you can't do that, well then, why bother at all? Half-attempting to credit like that just makes you look lazy (and, of course, using people's work without decent credit is just plain rude anyway). Please, people. Just try a little harder--I mean, dA by default includes the artist's username in the filename of the image. You don't even need to do any work to get it. Well, unless it was an undownloadable image and you had to print-screen or something to save it, but still, it's not so hard to save things by creator name and then go back to check the filename when you post your creations. I appreciate the work of the people who make the Sims objects, of course, but I wish those artists would in turn appreciate the work of the artists whose images they use.

This has been a public service announcement from the Society for People Tired of Seeing dA Listed as a Source. Thank you; please resume your normal activities.

PS, soon as I stop being a lazy bum myself and organize some pictures, I'll post my long-overdue photoshoots for Valentine's Day and Alice's/Jason's birthdays.

Alright, so... time has passed, things have changed, blahblahblah. I haven't really played Sims in quite a while, and when I do, it's been other neighborhoods--premade families, the neighborhood I made with a friend for our book, the lot I made for taking Christmas pictures, etc.

Anyway, I've sort of lost interest in the Garniers, and fun as it was to play my desperate attempt to get Aubrey his first kiss, I'm not sure it would be particularly interesting to write. And I'm not really feeling up to the whole 'witty commentary' thing right now. So, most likely, I'll just write one last, brief post of what all happened and leave at that. Maayybe I'll do Aubrey's college years.

I did, however, play college!Aubrey for a few minutes just to see what he looks like. His face came out kind of lumpy and weird and glasses align completely wrong--that's what I get for squishing his head -.-; But I guess it's not too bad, seeing as he was one of my first Bodyshop sims, and the first I actually put in-game. Anyway, I gave him a little makeover to try to make him look a bit less odd, complete with neon hairdye. I didn't take any decent pictures, so I'll upload one when I do.

As for what I have been doing...

I made a few attempts at taking Christmas pictures, meanwhile trying out cheats and hacks for arranging things. I never got any really good results out of it, but I did take a bunch of pictures and slap some lame attempts at funny Christmas greetings onto a few (I was going to do a Happy Yule too, but then I realized how ugly my Wiccan sim Jackie is in-game). Was going to upload them, but was distracted with other things and now it's almost the end of January so it's a little dumb. Of course, I could always cheat and change the date so it looks like I uploaded them on time. XD My new icon, by the way, is the more correct, not-first-try-at-Bodyshop, CC'd version of Aubrey (AKA Aubrey 2.0) from the Christmas pictures. He's still a tiny bit funny-looking, and not quite accurate, but much better than before.

I have another new set of sims, the Mark family of Valentown. They technically belong to my dear Mizufriend even if they're on my computer, and she put a few pictures in her dA scraps, but I might put up more in this journal too, sometime. It's pretty much utter chaos: two unmarried romance sims raising four toddlers. It was amazing to play, especially with another person there to laugh with, and especially because I never even raised a single toddler before (it took a little time, but I eventually got used to everyone constantly being in the red). The four kids are the four main characters from the book three friends and I am writing (link above--okay, I actually sort of dropped out of writing because I don't really have the time, but one of the characters was still originally mine), and the parents are two of Mizu's and my old favorite dysfunctional characters from our stories, Kakero and Malachai. I'm still not sure why we decided to stick Kakero with his murderous ex rather than his wife. ._.;

Additionally, I played Strangetown and birthed Assbaby Curious but didn't save, then I played Veronaville and RAAAAGE'd because Mercutio is my favorite Shakespeare character EVAR and not only does he look nothing like in my mind but he's just plain funny-looking, and furthermore, I support the belief that he's canonically in love with Romeo, and also happen to enjoy pairing him with Tybalt just for lulz, and both pairings are voided by how the characters are set up. DX

And, what I intend to do next? I really want to try a legacy. There are currently three possibilities: The Litterae legacy, the Aesir legacy, or a legacy founded by one of my random characters. The Litterae legacy would have--surprise!--all sims named after literary characters, in mostly-chronological order (I didn't realize until I already made my potential founder that one of my potential gen 2 characters predates him by a couple hundred years); I think I'd like to do this one, and I've already got a lot of names planned out. The Aesir legacy would be an attempt to reproduce the lineage of the Norse gods in Sim legacy form, and possibly my Mythology class project. XD Then there's always the option of starting a legacy with Kakero or someone, which would be kind of awesome in its own way, but I think I want to do something a little more structured. Most likely, I'll do the Litterae legacy. After all, I already have the founder made.

Now, about that Mythology project--if I don't make a legacy of it, which I probably won't, I'll be making a video about the Norse creation myths and maybe a few others, essentially acting them out with sims. I've been collecting stuff for this for quite a while, including the epic search for a tree big enough to be Yggdrasill. I currently have Ymir made, as well as the Norns and the (currently humanoid) snake that noms on Yggdrasill, who look amazing even though they'll probably only be in it for about 3 seconds.

There'd been another idea brewing in my head for a bit, again more of a story illustrated with sims than one revolving around them, about my characters Mel and Jason. I've already written some script, and I kind of like it and want to do it, but I'm not sure using sims actually contributes anything. I think it might be better off just plain writing it. But, we'll see--I think I might make the family and start playing them, and see from there if it's worth posting.

Then there's the matter of the IU story I started. I haven't exactly given up the idea or anything, but I'm not really actively working on it either... The only thing stopping me? All the special CC I need to either track down or make myself. Ugh. It makes me a bit bored with the whole idea, really. But I still intend to finish sometime.

In other news, I feel like advertising even though no one actually follows this journal: sea_serpent, the person who got me into Sims following her awesome legacies and such, just finished her amazing Jambon legacy and started her new Scallywag legacy. Go check it out. :3

Also~ On an unrelated note, my newest obsession is Axis Powers Hetalia. <3

Random fact of the day: That line in the song One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer that says "I was feeling mellow" always makes me think of Mello getting groped in a bar. (It's on the radio right now.) By the way, I really dislike this song. D:

Finally, I put my procrastination to good use and update the Garniers! This'll be a long one, since I'm trying to get caught up to the end of Aubrey's teen years. Which were extended.

Warnings: 80+ images, Aubrey being difficult and flirting with everyone, creepy vaguely-incestuous moments, dirty jokes, cursing.

Let me begin by pointing out how horribly mismatched everyone's sleep schedules have become. If I recall, Rebecca went to sleep just a bit before Jonathan woke up.

And of course, the first thing Jonathan wants to do when he wakes up is clean Aubrey's shower-mess, which I allow him to ignore so that he has enough time to cram in a little sleep before school. <strike>Hey, sounds like me.</strike>

Note that I have finally installed a fire alarm so that I don't need to panic whenever I see someone beginning to cook.

...although Jonathan proves that I have good reason to be worried. Oh well, at least the alarm works.

Meanwhile...

Aubrey: Hey bb. ;D You come around this hallway often?

But eventually he manages to pull himself away from his reflection and panic properly. Rebecca sleeps right through the whole thing, though.

I figure it might be a good idea to tip the firefighter, since we'll undoubtedly be needing her again.

And, naturally, what does Jonathan do as soon as the fire's out?

Jonathan: Finally! I thought I'd never be able to clean the counter!

Annnd Aubrey's back to his usual habits too. Really now, I know you <strike>are</strike> would be pretty whorish if you didn't fail so hard, but is it that impressive that your parents are married?

So now Jonathan counters by congratulating his birth.

Aubrey: And then I was like, "Hell no, bb, I will not hop on your train."
Jonathan: Ahahaha.

Jonathan: ...but not really. *offended*
Aubrey: He doesn't like my jokes? Loser.
Stove: Hey, I'm still smoking over here. ;-;

NO. You do NOT need to interrupt your mother in the bathroom to tell her what a good job she's doing being married.

Aubrey: So, Dad, do you and Mom ever use handcuffs?
(And, yes, I am making them eat the burnt breakfast.)

Jonathan: Handcuffs? Boring.

Jonathan: Kids these days. Trust me, there are much more interesting ways to WooHoo than whatever you read about in your dirty magazines.
Aubrey: Yeah, Mom seems like she's probably into some pretty weird stuff.

Aubrey: Thanks for the advice, Dad!

...seriously. What is this madness?! You're starting to creep me out, guys.

Oh well, Aubrey goes and distracts me with his cuteness as usual.

The paper airplane has to be one of my favorite actions in the game. They always make some of the cutest and most spastic and awesome expressions and poses.

Later, we take another shot at getting Aubrey some romantic success.

We try Futaboy just because it would amuse me, but apparently he doesn't like Aubrey anymore. ...well, I guess when your host's house catches on fire, you might be a little deterred.

So we invite Meadow over instead. Aubrey seems happy to see her, at least.

...until he decides he needs to go inside to tell his mom a dirty joke, RIGHT NOW. His parents don't even appreciate his humor. D:

Aubrey: I am so incredibly won over by your amazing charm!
Meadow: Omfg, really?! Me too!
Much better. =D

Argh, why do you always do this?! What, do strangers walking by spark the need for you to assert your masculinity?

Uh-huh, we're right back to offering backrubs as soon as she leaves.

That's right, you'd best think Aubrey is the sex.

I can has no fire plz? D:

Good job! =D

So first you don't bother to cook for her, and then you make that mess while eating right in front of her? Oh, that's just lovely. And why is she still attracted to you?

Aubrey: I am impressed by the size of your bust.

Meadow: Hahaha, these? Seriously? They're totally fake!

Aubrey: Ohhhh. It all makes sense now.

Aubrey: Now I understand why you wouldn't let me tickle you!

Aubrey: Pfft, what a loser.

Well, apparently Meadow approves of mockery.

Seriously. I know he has his inherent Aubrey awesomeness, but he's been pretty rude. And that makes you want to hug him?

Well, whatever works for you.

'Cause it most certainly works for me. Finally, Aubrey's first crush! Bawww.

Apparently Meadow feels that crush status entitles her to raid the fridge. But she still leaves right after.

NO.

dafjdbjadfk/. NO. WHYDOYOUINSISTONTRYINGTOBEALICE. Seriously, you do this, and even sim!Alice himself won't sleep next to his dad? There's something seriously wrong here.

Finally, I try to get Aubrey to have an in-character moment and take some pictures...

But he refuses to face the mirror and take one of himself like a good little camwhore. DX

He likes to start off the day by reminding himself how bad he fails as a Romance sim.

And then think about his darling crush while doing... um... just what is he doing?

Haaayy. Isn't this supposed to be the artsy kid or something? Aubrey likes artsy people! Yeah! This'll work out wonderfully!

No, apparently he just likes soup.

Aubrey: Eww, tomato soup is nasty.
Soupkid: Whaaat? How can you not like tomato soup!?

He does like kissing, though!

Aubrey: But, look, I have this really big house, and...
(No, Aubrey, you don't.)
Soupkid: But... what's the use of a house if it doesn't have any tomato soup?

They manage to get along over politics...

...only for Aubrey to get offended all over again by the skeletal structure of this kid's hand.

That's a rather... remarkably pathetic expression, dearie.

Alright, now you're just being creepy.

Aubrey: Hmmm... now what should I do with this guy I have over?

Aubrey: Oh! I know! Kissing!

Well, after the brief interruption of Soupkid being more interested in Rebecca...

Aubrey: Sayy, would you care to try that thing... you know, where you stand close to each other, and...
Soupkid: Ugh, sorry, I don't kiss creepers who follow me into the bathroom and hate tomato soup.

Plans foiled again! ;-; So much for that first kiss.

Soupkid: So, I heard about this moron whose stove caught on fire when they were cooking. Twice.
Aubrey: Really?! What an idiot! Hahaha! Ha. Haaaa. Yeah, that wasn't... us.. or anything.

Finally, they at least get along well enough to play Red Hands.

Good job, Jonathan! Sleeping next to your wife like you're supposed to, not your creepy son who wants to pretend he's Alice. Also, these two are finally back on the same schedule, hurrah!

Speaking of creepy, vaguely-incestuous son... *facepalm*

Anyway, today he comes home from school with...

This guy who looks ever so slightly like Sam, his canon boyfriend! Huzzah! Plus he's wearing a kimono, which makes him extra cool. Will resemblance perhaps be a good omen?

Yes, it seems so! They're getting along nicely.

Sam: And, clearly, eggs are the best thing to cook.
Aubrey: Oh, yes, absolutely!

Aubrey: But why wouldn't you scramble them?
Sam: He scrambles his eggs? What a dork.

Says the one who does Tai Chi at random when he visits others.

Aubrey: Hey, Dad, I don't think I've congratulated you on being married yet today!
Sam: You congratulate your dad? That's so thoughtful of you! =D

Teehee, Sam teaches Aubrey how to bow.

Why are all of Aubrey's potential mates fascinated with Rebecca? D: Is she that amazing? I mean, she's pretty cool, but still... This is even angry!Rebecca that Sam is infatuated with.

So he decides to mimic her anger? o_o; Oh my. You're kind of frightening.

Aubrey: Let's start a nuclear war... at the gay bar!

Sam does not approve of the wars and gay bars. Tch, typical. Thinks he's so mor~al.

Not too good to fall for a little shameless admiration, now is he?

He even lets Aubrey tickle him on the first try! =D See, it's totally destined.

Baww, crush time~

Hugs! Aw, look how happy Aubrey is.

Romantic hugs! Wheee!

Yaay, reciprocation.

Excuse me? You want to sleep? No, you've got a Sam to kiss. D<

Sam: Why the hell did you drag me into the bathroom?

Sam: Oh, you just wanted to hold hands? =D Wheeee!

Sam: The lighting in this dingy bathroom makes you look totally sexy. ;D

Well, that went very nicely. :3 I approve.

Random picture just because he looks pretty here.

Annnd we're done.

Now, the question is... who will Aubrey choose?! Meadow, his first crush, or Sam, the boy already destined by the all-knowing power of <strike>Apollo</strike> Kura to be his one true love? Gasp, the suspense! Only time will tell!
God, I have so much catching up to do on this family. x.x Where I am now, Aubrey's already gone to college (yes, I finally installed University. :D)

Now then, let's back up to... the fantastic escapades of the day a boy with a very interesting name showed up at their home. And look, I got around to making one of those nice shiny opening pictures~

Warnings: Inappropriate use of the safe icon, awkward positioning, general suggestive comments, mild swearing, and NEKKID SIMS =O (with standard Maxis censor). About 40 pictures.

We start off with some adorableness, but for once it's not Aubrey.

Aww. Jonathan and Rebecca really are rather cute sometimes.

...but apparently Jonathan's mind is elsewhere. Way to ruin a moment.

Jonathan: What? Kiss my wife? D: Why would I do that?

Jonathan: Huh. I still don't get it.

Apparently he liked it, though.

So, a little while later, this guy walks by.

And his name is Alvin Futa. Needless to say, I have myself a nice laugh, and decide that Aubrey must befriend Good Sir Futa.

He has some... interesting timing. (Note naked Aubrey in background.)

By the way, about Aubrey's showering habits. His one neat point is starting to piss me off. Every single time he showers, the bathroom floods.

Though, really? ...it's kind of hard to stay mad at that. (Also, why does the censor go all the way up his stomach? Is his bellybutton offensive?)

Anyway, he puts on some clothes and goes to meet Futa-boy.

And they get along rather well.

Even with the odd faces...

...and girly mannerisms...

...and a bit of gender confusion.
Aubrey: Actually, I'm a boy.
Futaboy: Ohhh, and here I was wondering how to get into your--
Aubrey: My mom is kind of... right over there... you know.

And then Futaboy had to go and be a jerk and refuse a tickle. D<

Oh, but you'll grab his ass when he tries to get revenge?

I'm not sure I trust the look on that guy's face. He seems a bit too happy to be watching.

Yeah, that doesn't look suggestive in the least. Nope, nothing wrong with this picture at all.

Ohoho, what's this?

Meanwhile, Rebecca and Jonathan have a romantic moment in the bathroom.

Until Futaboy barges in, that is.

And then, just to complete this perfect day (in which Rebecca never got dressed), the stove catches on fire. Fantastic. They don't have a fire alarm, by the way.

Aubrey takes advantage of the incident to practice his damsel-in-distress act.

Rebecca sets to extinguishing the fire, while Futaboy cowers pathetically.
(Lawl, picture 66=fire.)

Finally a firefighter gets here, now that Rebecca appears to already be engulfed in flame <strike>like David Sedaris's last book</strike>, and Aubrey is already getting bored of being distressed.

No repeats plz. D:

Yeah, yeah, it's tragic. But you cooked it, you eat it.

And Futaboy continues to strike up inappropriate conversations with Aubrey (who needs to shower D: )in front of his mom.

Rebecca: Hehehe. Aubrey's getting changed.
Um. Why are you looking so happy about this? D:

Next morning, Rebecca tries to burn down the kitchen again.

And then they all share a meal of burnt toaster pastries, in their underwear. They're quite good at being awkward, yes?

Later, Rebecca becomes distraught about the existence of the wall.

Rebecca: Look, that's us on TV!

Whoa... I made the right pick on one of those? That's a new one.

Rebecca is angry? That never happens. o_o; I'm kind of scared.

Thankfully, she tries to make a nice, non-flammable lunch.

And Aubrey finally spends some quality time with his reflection.

Later, there are TOO MANY SIMS IN MY LOT. x.x;

Hey, don't ditch the one who desperately needs to improve his relationship with you so that he can get his first kiss for his mom's friend! D:

So Aubrey decides to take an interest in his dad's coworker instead.

...but then HE goes and talks to Meadow.

Again with the whole noogies-in-front-of-strange-men thing.

...and then I make him do his homework right before he goes to sleep like a good little AE kid. |D <strike>Actually I don't remember if Aubrey is AE or not.</strike>

...and so we end the latest installment of Garnier madness. Hope you enjoyed.

Next time there shall be... actual romance, rather than merely suggestive commentary!

To-Do for IU Part 1

This is mostly for myself, but I suppose if anyone is interested it would let you see how close I'm coming to making the next part of my first and only actual story (Imperfect Unity, the continuation of Julie's story).

Technically I still want to play Julie alone a few simdays before I really do anything, but before I can even do that I need to learn how to change her clothes and, preferably, get SimPE and copy Luna <strike>for later</strike> before anything happens to him.

That aside, moving on with the story involves introducing some new characters, which requires that I...
Find CC:
-1 or 2 hairstyles
-1.5 outfits
-1 head accessory (S)
-1 body accessory (S)
-1 necklace (S)
-1 object (R)
Find or Make CC:
-1 eye style
Make CC:
-Add a logo (sort of) to 1 clothing item
-1 custom face makeup
Make in-game:
-3 sims
-At least 2 or 3 bedrooms
--Preferably, finish the house
-Add 1 object to lot
(Disregard the letters in parenthesis, that's just for me.)

And if I'm going to not be lazy and do this the "right way" (but I probably won't), I'll also need~
Research: (aka consult with the other creator)
-Appearance/clothing for 2 sims
Find CC:
-At least 1 outfit
-Assorted jewelry
Find or Make CC:
-1 outfit, maybe, depending on how nice certain Maxis defaults are
Make CC:
N/A
Make in-game:
-4 sims
-3 houses x.@

Ironically, I have a male skirt that I think would be perfect for a certain female sim. D: Oh well.
Also, I must look into methods of preventing aging, SimPE, and the InSim...

Anyway, as you can see, there's still quite a bit of work to do before the next part comes along. Meanwhile I'll probably post the <strike>crack</strike> cuteness and insanity that is the Foster family, and/or more of the Garniers (I have a whole other round of pictures already).

Hooray, the first part of my first actual story using The Sims is posted~!

These here are all my comments that I was starting to write in that post, until they started taking up more space than the post itself and getting increasingly off-topic so I decided to put them here instead. So now, I write under the assumption that you've already read the previous post.

So, about that. Any of you who are familiar with IU might have noticed something very, very wrong with the images of Julie and the 'boy she remembers' ...namely, the neon pink streaked hair and lacy gloves (and if you think you're scarred now, just wait). So I think an explanation is required.

In order to make this beginning, as I discovered with much annoyance, I had to create a parent for Julie. Since of course she's supposed to have no memory of parents or anything, I figured I'd just make some random sim, kill them off, and that would be the end of it. But then I decided I might as well make it Luna, considering that he WAS the one that (sort of) raised her. And in the process I realized I'd have to make a 'correct' Luna later and would kill this one off anyway, so I thought, why not have some fun with this one? First it was just the hair because that was the closest thing to his normal color that I had (and I wasn't about to go hunt for hair for a sim I intend to kill off shortly), and then the glasses because Luna just looks rather good in them, and then... well, you'll see his clothes later. And then I decided to make his aspiration romance, because the thought of whore!Luna is rather hilarious. So this is a very, very skewed Luna. Named Luna Foster. XD

About killing him off, though... I couldn't. He was just too much fun. He's not living with Julie, of course; I moved him into a horrid little one-room house (hey, still better than death!). Hopefully he won't make any appearances where he shouldn't, so I can leave him to continue his epic quest for <strike>Makari</strike> a <strike>boyfriend</strike>lover. By the way, he was fairly gay at first, but he found a woman he was insistent on flirting with. And she's pretty awesome, so it's all good. I'll just lull him into that false sense of security for now, let him think that he really is straight... But of course it won't be him that'll end up with Makari. That'll be the real Luna Orion. So I guess this one doesn't need to be in denial about his sexuality. Hmmm...

Anyway, the epic adventures of Luna Foster, Father of Juliet were unexpectedly chronicled and shall be posted later, because they're a mix of quite amusing and quite adorable. If you see it, though, remember that none of that actually 'happened.' D: Also, those misadventures ended up spanning Julie's entire childhood, so when I continue with her actual story it'll start with her being a teenager. And I'll probably have her live alone for a few days before I really take off with where IU begins. Besides, I need to find hair and clothes for the other characters, and make some actual bedrooms in Julie's house.

Now, mostly unrelated--talking about "Luna Foster, not Orion" is reminding me of "Christopher Martin, not Levy", a particular line from something that I wrote but no one has read, about characters that only two people know of. But it's making me want to make another batch of sims, probably beginning with Christopher or Susanna and eventually leading to Zack (potentially including Jason and/or Jackie). And I just might do that as another actual storylike narration. ...hmm, but if I do that I'll really need some sort of hack to kill jealousy, since even if I don't follow the story exactly I refuse to play Chrissy monogamously, and it certainly won't do to have Susanna hating Joseph if they're going to create Zack eventually. ...and if I continue it far enough that Christopher moves out on his own again, I'm throwing in Captain and Denmark with him. <3

Yeah, no one followed that last paragraph... ah well. Wait, no one actually reads this anyway, ahaha.

My name is Juliet Foster.

I live by myself, in this huge old house.

I don't know who my parents are, but I know there's at least someone out there who cares about me, because every so often, I find that money or other things are just left here for me.

I don't really understand it, but that's always been the way my life was... I've always lived in this house, as long as I can remember. Always by myself...

I think there might have been a boy, back when I was really little, that stayed here with me sometimes.

Someone very kind, who took care of me and made me smile. But I don't really remember.

Sometimes I think I just made him up. Sometimes I think I remember him having purple hair and blue feathered wings, and then I know that I made him up. There's no such thing as a person with wings... no such thing as angels, right?

...

I don't really have any friends. The other kids at school hear about me and they think I'm weird or creepy, and the teachers worry about me when my parents never show up. Living like this... It's strange and lonely, but I get by alright. I'm sure everything will be better some day. Besides... Whoever it is that gives me everything left me such a big house. They must have done that for a reason, right? I know something is coming in the future. Something big.

~*~

And there we have it. I think I'm going to try to actually do a whole story narrated by Julie that follows this 'family'. Maybe. Once I start introducing all the others I might just switch to third-person narration... or might give up the actual storytelling aspect altogether. Hmm, nah, I think I do want to keep it story-style. Not writing a narration of what the sims do, but actually using them as a means of illustrating canonical IU. Should be fun.

For any unaware who stumble onto this, "Julie's Story" here is actually a sort of prologue for very old and very cherished story/roleplay/monstrous feat of imagination called Imperfect Unity (or more frequently IU), created by myself and my dear Mizufriend (halfelvenwitch.deviantart.com). It's not really a story with a plot so much as a history of sorts, about a certain group of characters thrown together under various, somewhat odd circumstances. Note the size of Julie's house, which was definitely made here as is for a reason (actually, I probably should have made the house even larger, but I got tired of building). If I stay with this, Juliet certianly won't be living alone forever. <strike>I'm just sad that, if I do it right, it'll be such a long time until Makari shows up.</strike>

By the way, assuming I do actually stick with this, it should follow the entire course of IU, so no need to worry if you don't already know the story. All the weird, vague references and foreshadowing will be explained in time.

Let's all hope I do keep it up, yes? And that at least one person actually reads and enjoys it, maybe.

Here goes, the first post of my actually playing the Garniers.

At first I only took pictures if Aubrey was being particularly adorable or something was easy to laugh at, and even then I often forgot, so I don't have much record of their first days. And I didn't bother to adjust my visual/camera settings and learn how to use different camera control tools and modes for a little while, so the pictures would've sucked anyway (indeed, the first bunch do).

And so, their first adventures! About 25 pictures, many of them rather large.

One of the first things to greet me as I started playing them was this in Aubrey's wants:

Um, Aubrey, dearie? You're a teenager. And considering that it's your first day of being a teenager, you're essentially 13. Would the game even allow you to drink?

Otherwise, the beginning was fairly tedious for me, because I was obsessing over keeping everyone's needs in the green. Which was difficult, as I only had the default $20,000 work with and wanted to keep some extra (I'm just now realizing that I probably saved more than I needed to), so their house is rather ugly and empty, and Jonathan always had a very low environment bar (at least I assume that was the reason, because I've since bought some things and it's improved). And it suits him well enough; his actual character is supposed to be a wealthy businessman. Poor dear, forced to part with his wealth for the time being.

He was also quick to develop his habit of wanting to clean everything, which seems to occasionally amuse Rebecca.

But he doesn't do all the work... though, Rebecca really doesn't do much of it either.

Aubrey settled into normal narcissistic character rather quickly...

So quickly that he had time to creep me out by absorbing a bit of Alice's character for a moment. (Alice, by the way, is a mostly unrelated character who would be rather inappropriately nonchalant about lying in bed with his father and discussing kissing.)

Surprisingly, they do occasionally have fairly normal family meals (not much anymore though, because Rebecca took up a night job). Except for the whole... lack of table. And their fascinating discussions of roadsigns while eating.

Really, they can hardly be called normal.
And this is a perfect example of why.

Aubrey: And this stupid game won't even let me wear dresses!
Rebecca: Eh, you couldn't pull it off anyway.
Aubrey: I'll have you know, I look fantastic in a dress!
And they must argue the matter in the bathroom, no less.

And one day I took the family to the park (mainly because I wanted to explore the town myself) and found that he likes to discuss his girlish tendencies with strangers, too.

Aubrey: Did you know that I'm wearing makeup? =D

He was really pretty adorable on that swing, though. I'm annoyed that my picture quality was so poor and I didn't know how to get closer yet.

But, really, Aubrey spends most of his time being adorable as it is.

Now, skip a bit of sim-time and about a week of Kuralife... during this time I learned how to take pictures that don't entirely suck, and decided to at least attempt to chronicle a bit of the Garniers' normal going-ons. I also got the house to a point of decentness so that I wasn't constantly worrying about Jonathan's environment need, and realized that people do randomly walk by outside all on their own accord and that I can go meet them, so some of the tediousness went away. So the next batch of pictures will be at least a little better.

So, one lovely Sim morning starts off with...

Aubrey: Hey, mom, congrats on getting married, like, 17 years ago!
Rebecca: Um, thanks?

And the next thing she does after the family wakes up in the morning is serenade her husband.

In front of the refrigerator (I'm pretty sure Jonathan just wanted some breakfast). It's pretty clear where Aubrey gets his weirdness.

Meanwhile, said child practices talking to himself. As if he needed more encouragement to stand in front of a mirror or to debate.

Um, dearie? Since when are you against art? You have a freaking fetish for artists.

First the art-hate, and now this? Okay, you're just trying to piss <strike>Jackie</strike> me off, aren't you?

But apparently watching Aubrey argue with himself constitutes good breakfast-time entertainment for his parents.

Aubrey makes some rather horrifying faces.

And again, I have no question where it comes from.

Checking himself out in the mirror. Of course. Sorry, dearie, but those pajamas really are not that flattering on you.

I was very amused to find that Meadow Thayer (who I recognized from sea_serpent's Stuhl legacy) stopped by.

This is picture number 34. I'll let that fact speak for itself.
(Aubrey, by the way, is desperate for his first kiss, being a Romance sim and whatnot. It's been in his wants basically the entire time, and by this point I believe about 7 simdays had already gone by.)

Did you just reject a hug? Why would you reject a hug from the first teenage sim that's actually taking an interest in you?! Sorry to say, not the way to get that first kiss, dearie.

They got along eventually, though.

And Meadow went home and all was well, except that she and Aubrey have negative chemistry. Arrggh.

Okay, seriously. Alice doesn't even exist in this neighborhood. You have no excuse to be absorbing his reverse-pedophilia and dreaming about old men.

If you noticed that Jonathan doesn't show up much, that's because he's always cleaning something. Or randomly relaxing somewhere, even though it does nothing but LOWER his needs (including comfort, WTF?).

Introducing the Garniers

Let us say hello to my first Sims family, the Garniers. =D Yaaayyy.

Aubrey, Jonathan, and Rebecca.

Note that I based this family on a group of characters I've had for a little while, though really Aubrey was the only character I paid particular attention to, and his parents were mostly just there as Parent of Aubrey (although they did have at least somewhat developed personalities, particularly his mom). Nonetheless, I never really bothered to name them, and did so on the spot when I created the family. So I basically just gave them random names, and I'm not exactly thrilled with the ones I picked, so even throughout this I'll probably refer to them as "Aubrey's mom" and "Aubrey's dad" moreso than Rebecca and Jonathan.

Anyway, here is the small handful of pictures I've taken so far, as well as stats.

First up is Aubrey, who I adore.

Lovely, yes? ...well, I think so, at least. <3 Of course, being my first family, I created the Garniers just about as soon as I started up the game and figured out how, so they're 100% Maxis content. It wasn't even until after the family was made that I did a quick edit of the default brown eyes to make the lovely caramel-brown that Aubrey really should have.

So, although Aubrey was modeled on a preexisting character, I had very limited resources to attempt to mimic that and he ended up looking not much like his usual self.

The original Aubrey, rather different (although this is an older picture and the coloring is slightly off from what I've now decided on--a less pale skin tone, and warmer eye color). What bothers me the most is the complete lack of long hair for males. ...no, what really bothers me most is the general lack of feminine things (especially clothes) for males, but I wasn't actually expecting that. As you may notice, Aubrey's a fairly trappy fellow. <strike>And quite a camwhore, not that that has any relevance here.</strike>

Nonetheless, even if the result isn't a perfect Aubrey clone, I'm quite happy with him.

Really, how could I not love him? He looks rather dorky when he smiles (and over-excited... which fits the original Aubrey rather well), but he's adorable.

Clothing spam tiem.

He looks so pretty in this~ ;-; Such a shame they don't put the kimonos under formal clothing; it would definitely be his if the option was there.

Checking himself out in the manskirt... yep, that's Aubrey.

The cute, it overpowers me. D: It wasn't quite powerful enough to make me actually let him keep that many nice points, though.

Now, stats.

Aubrey Garnier
Rebecca and Jonathan's son (currently teen)
Romance Aspiration
Libra
Neat: 1
Outgoing: 9
Active: 4
Playful: 6
Nice: 5
Turn-ons: Glasses, creativity
Turn-offs: Facial hair

All picked intentionally to try to fit his actual character, of course. Sort of. Though, looking at it now, I'm not sure why I only gave him 1 neat. Possibly in order to give him 9 outgoing... Argh, I hate the 25-point-total requirement.

By the way, he has a particular interest in politics, which perplexed me until I realized that what he's really interested in is the missiles.

So here we have Aubrey. Next, his mom.

I didn't put much time into tweaking her appearance when I made her, but I think she's rather pretty. :3

Rebecca Garnier
Aubrey's mother, Jonathan's wife
Popularity Aspiration
Taurus
Neat: 3
Outgoing: 5
Active: 3
Playful: 9
Nice: 5
Turn-ons: Formal wear, logic
Turn-off: Stink

By the way, I love her. <3 Her regular character, that is. Once again, the 25 point thing bothered me, because the actual character is above-average outgoing and average active. D: Oh well.

And, sadly, I don't have near as much to say about her as I did about Aubrey. Scary to say, she seems to be the most normal one in the household.

Moving on, last family member:

Jonathan Garnier
Aubrey's father, Rebecca's husband
Fortune Aspiration
Virgo
Neat: 9
Outgoing: 3
Active: 4
Playful: 4
Nice: 5
Turn-ons: Cologne, cooking
Turn-off: Hats

I have nothing to say about him, really. I prefer the sim to the character; the character is rather dull. The sim at least has his super cleaning OCD quirk... which the real character very well may absorb now.

So as you might notice, there are a few interesting dynamics, particularly with neatness. Aubrey is a horrid slob and gets water all over the floor when he showers; Jonathan obsessively cleans everything and finds it fun. D:

Hm, I guess that's all for now. By the way, I've played for about 8 simdays so far, and I did take a handful of pictures so eventually I'll put them up.

'ello, persons who may or may not read this. I'm Kura, and this Livejournal shall be for documentation of my fantastic adventures with The Sims 2. Funfun, yes?

I'm extremely new to this, by the way. More than anything else, I was inspired by sea_serpent's awesome sims to go get my own. And I've hardly played still, because of a bunch of school junk and other distractions... hrm. And I haven't really had any incredibly exciting things happen yet, but I'm already in love with my darling Aubrey sim. <3 Nonetheless, I want to start chronicling their going-ons... So I think I'll start with this.

A forewarning, I am just now looking up how to not suck at screenshots, so all my first bunch of pictures will be either bizarre shapes and sizes and including pieces of menus and whatnot because I just used Print Screen and cropped to what I wanted, or horribly poor quality because I used the in-game camera with bad settings.

A second warning, all the families I've created so far have been based on my preexisting characters, and my characters are pretty damn weird. Expect great amounts of gay and persons of indeterminate gender. Hm... and my sense of humor's probably a bit odd too, when it comes to my comments... I expect there will be plenty of things that I choose to share becase they amused me that no one else will care about.

Eh, and I suppose that's all I have to say as a sort of welcome to myself.

I'm not going to start posting stuff just yet, but the two families I've created so far are the Garniers who live in Pleasantview and the Torys (not to be confused with American Revolution Tories?) who live in a generally empty created neighborhood. I might not post the Torys at all though... Well, maybe just a picture of Alice because he's just so lovely~ (Yep, a boy named Alice. See what I mean about gender issues?)

By the way, that's Aubrey Garnier in my currently-only userpic. Being adorable, as is his specialty.
